In eastern Ontario, numerous school bus cancellations continue to affect students. On Thursday, these disruptions were largely attributed to challenging road conditions, primarily due to snow. Several specific areas faced cancellations. The Madawaska area in Renfrew County, along with regions north of Kingston and Belleville, experienced service interruptions. French bus services also halted for a second consecutive day under the Consortium de transport scolaire de l’est (CTSE). Moreover, the Consortium de transport scolaire d’Ottawa (CTSO) suspended buses serving schools in Brockville, Carleton Place, Almonte, Prescott-Russell, Marionville, Merrickville, and Kemptville.
Operational Status
While many buses remained off the roads, operations continued in other locations. Both English and French buses in Ottawa and the remainder of Renfrew County were running as scheduled. Despite these cancellations, schools generally remained open, emphasizing the importance of checking with local authorities regarding transportation options.

As of Thursday morning, all local snowfall warnings had been lifted. The previous day saw significant snowfall, with the Ottawa International Airport reporting nearly 14 centimeters of snow from late Tuesday night into early Thursday.
