English musician Morrissey is facing another setback as he begins the new year with canceled performances. Recently, it was announced that his show at Agua Caliente Casinos in Rancho Mirage, California, has been postponed indefinitely. This decision is due to an adverse reaction to prescription medication.

In addition to the Rancho Mirage concert, Morrissey was also scheduled to perform at the Civic Theater in San Diego on January 6, but that show has been officially canceled. There is currently no indication that a new date will be arranged. These performances had already been rescheduled from earlier dates in 2025.

Cancellations and Previous Shows

2025 has not been kind to Morrissey, as he has canceled a total of 22 shows for various reasons. This includes the cancellation of two performances in Ottawa after receiving a credible threat via social media in September. Additionally, he called off his South American tour in November due to severe exhaustion, as well as his much-anticipated concert in the Dominican Republic in December.

Upcoming Events and New Music

Despite these cancellations, Morrissey is slated to perform in San Antonio on January 10. Fans of the former frontman of The Smiths can also look forward to new music on the horizon. In December, Morrissey announced he signed with Sire Records and revealed plans for an upcoming album.

  • Morrissey’s show at Agua Caliente Casinos is postponed indefinitely.
  • San Diego Civic Theater show on January 6 is canceled.
  • 22 shows have been canceled by Morrissey in 2025.
  • Two Ottawa shows canceled after a credible threat.
  • South American tour was called off due to exhaustion.

On Christmas Day, Morrissey shared a tracklist featuring 12 songs, hinting at a new album release soon. However, no specific release date has been disclosed yet. This upcoming record will be Morrissey’s first since “I Am Not a Dog on a Chain,” released in 2020, alongside the anticipated “Bonfire of Teenagers.”
