The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the pileup happened around 10:19 a.m., involving numerous vehicles, including an estimated 30 to 40 semi-trucks. Initial witness accounts describe chaotic scenes, with vehicles colliding in quick succession as drivers struggled to maintain control amid hazardous conditions.
Eyewitness Accounts
Pedro Mata, a driver from Hudsonville, was caught in the incident. He recounted the moment he noticed trucks ahead of him swerving and slowing down, resulting in a jackknifed tractor-trailer obstructing his path.

The sheriff’s office acknowledged injuries sustained by nine to twelve individuals in the crash, with all those harmed transported to nearby hospitals. Fortunately, there were no fatalities reported.
Buses from Hudsonville Public Schools and MAX Transit are facilitating the transportation of stranded motorists to Hudsonville High School, where they can arrange for further assistance.
