Maple Leafs Relocate Outdoor Practice Indoors

Due to anticipated extreme weather conditions, the Toronto Maple Leafs have relocated their outdoor practice to an indoor venue. Originally slated for January 24-26, the outdoor event at the Westway Outdoor Rink has been canceled to ensure the safety of fans and players.

Maple Leafs’ Indoor Practice Announcement

Instead, an Open Practice presented by Sport Chek will take place on January 26, 2026, at the Mattamy Athletic Centre. This venue, historically significant as the home of the Maple Leafs for 68 seasons, will host the team for the third time since 1999.

Event Details

  • Date: January 26, 2026
  • Time: Open practice at 11 a.m. with media registration starting at 10 a.m.
  • Location: Mattamy Athletic Centre, 50 Carlton St., Toronto, ON M5B 1J2

In a unique twist, WWE Superstars will join the event, engaging with fans through a 3-on-3 tournament showcasing both hockey and wrestling talent. Fans can register for admission starting January 23 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET via the Maple Leafs App.

Winners will be drawn and notified by the end of the same day, given the limited capacity of the venue. An exclusive live stream will also be available on the Maple Leafs’ social media channels for those unable to attend in person.

Media Information

  • Media Check-In: Top of the 3rd floor escalators
  • Deadline for Accreditation: 5 p.m. ET on January 24

Fans will have a chance to meet select players and coaching staff during the practice, along with the team’s mascot, Carlton the Bear. This event promises to connect fans with the rich history of the Maple Leafs and their legacy in Toronto.
