  • Vandalism

Groups of youths, many of whom are students at the school, have been reported engaging in aggressive behavior that targets local businesses. Prior fights among students have occurred in the same commercial parking lot, which is home to various establishments including a pizzeria, convenience store, locksmith, and denture clinic.

Community Response

Doreen Assaad, the mayor of Brossard, expressed her concern regarding the escalating violence. In an interview with QUB radio and television, she stated, “It’s very disappointing to see all of this. It causes significant problems for surrounding businesses, and it’s entirely unacceptable.”

She noted that residents are understandably frustrated and emphasized that only a small minority of students are responsible for the majority of the issues at the large school. The mayor pledged that law enforcement and community stakeholders would implement measures to address this wave of violence.
