Environment Canada has issued snowfall warnings for central and eastern Prince Edward Island, specifically affecting Queens and Kings counties. These alerts were released Wednesday morning, anticipating significant snowfall that could last into Thursday afternoon.

The expected snowfall accumulation is substantial, with totals between 15 and 20 centimeters in the affected areas. According to CBC meteorologist Jay Scotland, the snowfall will begin with light to moderate intensity and will continue through the night and into Thursday.

Scotland noted that a strong northerly to northwesterly wind will accompany the snow, with gusts reaching between 40 km/h and 70 km/h.
