Authorities Arrest Three Philadelphia Women at Miami Airport
Three women were arrested at Miami International Airport on Sunday night during an altercation with Frontier Airlines employees. The individuals involved were Nafisa Dockery, aged 30, Davana Cochran, 26, and her sister Dionjana Cochran, 21.
Incident at Miami Airport
The conflict began as the trio attempted to board flight F9-1204, which was scheduled to take them back to Philadelphia. According to deputies from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, the women refused to pay for a carry-on bag that was mandatory for boarding.
Actions Leading to Arrest
- Nafisa Dockery told the Cochran sisters, “We don’t have to listen; let’s just go.”
- The three women were informed that they could not board due to unpaid fees.
- Frontier employees confirmed that the women’s boarding passes had been denied, resulting in canceled tickets.
- The women were warned they were trespassing but chose to ignore the instructions.
As the situation escalated, Miami-Dade deputies had to evacuate the plane. This action delayed the flight for approximately one hour. Witnesses reported that as Dockery exited the aircraft, she “spat on” a Frontier employee.
Arrests and Charges
Upon leaving the plane, the women did not comply with officer orders, resulting in a brief struggle during their arrests. The arrests occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday night.
Following the incident, corrections officials booked Dockery and Davana Cochran shortly before 4 a.m. on Monday. Dionjana Cochran was booked shortly after them.
Legal Repercussions
All three women face charges of resisting arrest and trespassing after being warned. Additionally, Dockery has been charged with battery due to her actions against a Frontier employee.
This incident highlights ongoing issues surrounding compliance with airline regulations, particularly regarding carry-on baggage.
