Nintendo Switch 2 Gets a Pocket-Sized Dock Boost from Genki

Genki has released the Covert Dock 3 and ShadowCast 3, giving Nintendo Switch 2 users a compact way to move from handheld play to a bigger screen. The new gear is now available to order, and the pitch is simple: one small dock, one capture device, and fewer trade-offs for travel and home setups. For players who want a lighter alternative to a standard dock, the Nintendo Switch 2 now has another option.

What Genki is selling now

The Covert Dock 3 is a 65W compact travel dock built for Switch and Switch 2 use, while the ShadowCast 3 is designed to turn laptops, tablets, smartphones, and other screens into displays for gameplay. Genki says the ShadowCast 3 offers near-zero latency and can capture up to 4Kp60 for livestreaming or recording. The Covert Dock 3 adds 4Kp120 HDR and variable refresh rate output in a device Genki says is 1/14 the size of a standard dock.

Genki also says the Covert Dock 3 works with the original Switch, laptop, tablet, Steam Deck, and other handheld consoles. That wider compatibility is part of the appeal for households that no longer use just one system or one screen. In practical terms, the same compact dock can move between a living room TV, a desk monitor, and portable setups without much bulk.

Nintendo Switch 2 and the one-cable pitch

The Nintendo Switch 2 angle is straightforward: plug the console into the Covert Dock 3 with a single USB-C cable and output to a TV in 4K at 60Hz while charging at the same time. Genki has also positioned the system for use with laptops or iPad-style screens when paired with ShadowCast 3. That makes the product line useful not only for players, but also for people who want to stream, record, or work with a display they already carry.

Genki said its own earlier campaign for the system drew 30, 382 backers and raised $1, 931, 677 before the products launched. The company now says both products are available directly for order, with the ShadowCast 3 priced at $89. 99 and the Covert Dock 3 priced at $69. 99.

Why the compact setup stands out

The strongest argument for the Covert Dock 3 is size. Genki describes it as far smaller than a standard dock, and that matters for players who travel, commute, or simply do not want to keep a large accessory near every screen. The inclusion of a USB-A port also adds a little flexibility for accessories without forcing a larger hub-style setup.

Genki also frames the ShadowCast 3 as more than a gaming accessory. The company says it can turn most HDMI-output devices, including cameras, into a better video setup by replacing a basic built-in webcam. For users who already own a laptop or tablet, the idea is to reuse that device as a portable monitor instead of buying another screen.

What happens next

The immediate next step is simple: buyers can start ordering the new hardware now, and the question is how quickly Nintendo Switch 2 owners adopt a smaller, travel-friendly dock over a full-size one. If the compact design and one-cable setup catch on, the Nintendo Switch 2 could become the center of a much more flexible living-room-to-road setup. For now, Genki is betting that convenience will win the argument, and the Nintendo Switch 2 is at the center of that bet.
