- Family Plan: Raised to $26.99/month, up from $22.99
- Lite Plan: Rising to $8.99/month from $7.99
- Music Premium: Now $11.99/month, an increase from $10.99
Historical Price Changes
This marks the first price adjustment for YouTube Premium since 2023, when plans for individuals increased from $11.99 to $13.99. The Family plan saw a price jump from $17.99 to $22.99 in 2022. The YouTube Premium Lite option, offering additional features like background play and offline downloads, has been available for about a year.

Existing subscribers are being informed of the upcoming price changes via email. Many users have reported receiving notifications about the new rates, although the increase has not been extensively publicized by Google. The new pricing is scheduled to take effect starting from the June 2026 billing period.

The relevant email states, “To continue delivering great service and features, we’re increasing your price to $15.99/month.” Customers will see the revised pricing reflected on their billing statement dated June 7, 2026.

While these adjustments are noteworthy, they are not unprecedented in the streaming industry. For example, Netflix recently raised its prices by $2, marking its second increase in less than two years. Despite the relatively modest increase on YouTube Premium, subscriber reactions may be mixed.
Cancellation and Annual Payment Options
Subscribers to the YouTube Premium service have the option to cancel their subscription through YouTube Memberships. Additionally, individual plan holders can benefit from an annual payment option, reducing costs to approximately $13/month, totaling $159.99 per year.
