Northern Colorado Launches Free Food, Clothing, and Household Goods Market
A new initiative in Northern Colorado aims to support community members facing financial hardships. Stand Up Loveland, in collaboration with All Star Cleaning Services, will launch the “NoCo CommUNITY Store.” This free market will provide essential food, clothing, and household goods to those in need.
NoCo CommUNITY Store Details
The NoCo CommUNITY Store is situated at 120 W. Saturn Dr., in the lower level of Unit A. It will open its doors to the public on April 18, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Following the grand opening, the market will operate on the following schedule:
- Tuesdays: 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.
- Fridays: 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- Sundays: 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Addressing Community Needs
The initiative is a response to increasing economic challenges faced by many residents. Stand Up Loveland highlighted that rising costs make it difficult for families to meet their basic needs. The organization hopes this project will facilitate a way for neighbors to help one another during tough times.
Types of Donations Accepted
The NoCo CommUNITY Store will accept various donations to aid community members, including:
- Shelf-stable foods
- Baby food and diapers
- Gently used clothing (for men, women, and children)
- Household paper products
- Cleaning supplies
- Small kitchen items (pots, pans, dishes, etc.)
The group is also seeking fresh produce donations from local farmers and backyard gardeners during the growing season. Additionally, they plan to offer meat and eggs but require a refrigerator and standalone freezer to ensure safe storage.
Community Involvement and Support
Stand Up Loveland encourages volunteers to help maintain the area in front of the market and assist in planting fruits and vegetables for visitors. The store’s location near a bus stop is intended to make it accessible to residents from neighboring cities.
No identification or prior sign-up will be required for individuals to utilize the market. Those wishing to donate can arrange pickups and drop-offs by contacting the organization via email. This initiative also benefits from support provided by the Democratic Socialists of America and Clothe the People, a local hub for food and clothing redistribution.
