LG Electronics Meets Nvidia on Physical AI and Robots
LG Electronics recently met with nvidia to explore strategic collaboration in physical AI, including the robotics ecosystem. The move links Nvidia’s chips business to a broader push into robots, autonomous systems and AI-enabled manufacturing.
An LG Electronics spokesperson said, "the company can confirm that it recently met with Nvidia" and that "the two companies are exploring strategic collaboration in physical AI, including the robotics ecosystem." Jensen Huang has framed physical AI as "the next wave after generative AI."
LG Electronics and Nvidia
A domestic media report said LG Electronics and Nvidia will discuss a plan to integrate LG’s home robot with Nvidia’s platform. That points to a concrete product path, not just a broad partnership talk, because it centers on a specific home robot and a specific platform.
LG Electronics shares jumped as much as 15% on Tuesday after that report. The stock logged its biggest intraday gain since Feb. 11.
Asia suppliers and Nvidia
Vey-Sern Ling, managing director at Union Bancaire Privee, said, "It’s inevitable that global tech companies like Nvidia will continue to ramp up their reliance on Asia supply chain." He also said, "Physical AI can add on top of the already burgeoning demand from Asia’s supply chains for AI chips."
Asian suppliers now account for about 90% of Nvidia’s production costs. That is up from roughly 65% last year, and it shows how far Nvidia’s manufacturing footprint has shifted toward the region.
Nanya, Desay and Pateo
In the past week, Nanya Technology shares surged 10% after a local news report on its collaboration with Nvidia. Huizhou Desay SV Automotive Co. unveiled a new mass-production intelligent driving solution with Nvidia, and Pateo Connect Technology Shanghai Corp. entered a series of collaborations with Nvidia.
The immediate question now is which of those discussions turn into products or shipments first, especially for LG’s home robot. Investors have already moved on the headlines, but the operational details that matter most are the integration scope and timing.
