Jaguar Land Rover Cuts Range Rover SV Price to ₹3.5 Crore
Jaguar Land Rover cut the Range Rover SV price to ₹3.5 crore from ₹4.25 crore on Tuesday, trimming ₹75 lakh before the India-UK FTA is implemented. The revised prices take effect immediately for imported Range Rover completely built unit models from the UK, while buyers of locally manufactured JLR models see no change.
₹75 lakh on Range Rover SV
₹75 lakh is the biggest reduction in the update, and it lands on the Range Rover SV, which moved from ₹4.25 crore to ₹3.5 crore. The Range Rover Sport SV also fell, from ₹2.75 crore to ₹2.35 crore, giving prospective buyers a lower entry point into the SV portfolio the company is trying to broaden.
Rajan Amba, JLR India Managing Director, said: "In anticipation of the India-UK FTA being implemented, we are pleased to extend its benefits to our clients." He added, "The updated pricing of Range Rover SV and Range Rover Sport SV underscores our customer-first approach and commitment to building long-term relationships with our clients."
UK-built JLR models only
The cuts apply only to imported UK-built models, which means the new duty structure enabled by the FTA is being passed through to those vehicles first. JLR India said locally manufactured Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Evoque, Range Rover Velar and Discovery Sport models are not affected by the change.
Defender and Discovery also keep their current pricing structures because they are manufactured in Slovakia, Europe. For buyers, that creates a split market inside the brand: imported Range Rover variants are cheaper immediately, while the rest of the lineup holds steady.
Amba said, "We are confident that this FTA will allow more clients to experience the highly desirable and aspirational SV portfolio, and further strengthen the JLR India growth story."
