Brock Williams Chooses Texas Over Ohio State and Georgia

Texas landed brock williams on Friday, adding the No. 2 tight end in the country and one of the most sought-after prospects in the class. Williams made his decision on The Pat McAfee Show, giving the Longhorns a four-star target at 6-foot-5 and 210 pounds.

Texas Adds Another Blue-Chip Target

Williams becomes Texas’s 11th commitment and its second-highest-ranked pledge behind Easton Royal, the No. 1 receiver in the country. He also gives Steve Sarkisian another major piece on offense after Texas already had JT Geraci committed at tight end.

The draw is obvious from the numbers. Williams is ranked among the top 80 players in the country, and Texas beat out Ohio State and Georgia from his top three to get him.

Ohio State And Georgia Miss

That list mattered because Ohio State and Georgia were not fringe contenders. Williams had both programs in his final three, which made Texas’s win one of the stronger recruiting results in this cycle.

Texas now has two tight ends in the class, with Geraci ranked No. 28 at the position. Williams, described as a pure-playmaking tight end, brings size, speed, a large catch radius and blocking ability to a group that already has a higher-ranked receiver at the top of the class.

For Texas, the commitment tightens the shape of the offensive class under Sarkisian. For Williams, the decision settles a race that drew three national programs and puts the focus on how Texas turns a top-80 talent into production once he arrives.
