Sobha backs Dubai drone delivery launch across parks and beaches

Sobha is part of Dubai’s move to bring drone delivery services to selected public parks and beaches later this year, with Dubai Municipality and Keeta Drone starting a phased rollout. The service is designed to speed up access to food and beverage orders, essential items and on-demand services for visitors already inside those public spaces.

Dubai Municipality and Keeta Drone

Dubai Municipality and Keeta Drone have formed a strategic partnership for the project, which will introduce aerial delivery routes and test new logistics solutions within public spaces. Dubai Municipality will identify suitable locations and oversee coordination, while Keeta Drone will handle technical design, route planning and operational testing.

Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, said: "Dubai Municipality is exploring innovative mobility solutions that support more efficient service delivery and contribute to creating future-ready public spaces designed around convenience, accessibility, and enhanced visitor experiences". The rollout is being framed as part of Dubai’s push to strengthen smart mobility and visitor convenience without changing where people spend their time.

Dr. Yinian Mao on parks and beaches

Dr. Yinian Mao, president of Keeta Drone, said: "Our partnership stands for meeting people where they already are — at the park, at the beach, and within the public spaces that shape everyday life in Dubai". The line points to the operating challenge the partners are taking on: serving people in open public areas rather than in a fixed retail or residential setting.

Later this year, the phased launch will be the first test of that model across selected locations. For visitors, the practical change is narrow but immediate: orders for food, drinks, essentials and other on-demand items are being built around drone routes, with the two organizations dividing the work between site selection, coordination and flight operations.
