Honda Issues Nhtsa Honda Rearview Camera Recall for 59,887 Vehicles
Honda issued the nhtsa honda rearview camera recall for 59,887 Prologue and Acura ZDX vehicles after saying certain 2024 and 2025 models may show a blank or distorted rearview camera image. Dealers will replace the rearview camera for free, and owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on July 6, 2026.
Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX
The recall covers 44,199 Honda Prologue vehicles and 14,688 Acura ZDX vehicles. Honda said only 5% of the recalled vehicles are estimated to have the defect, but the repair applies to every vehicle in the campaign.
Peter Johnson, an Electrek author, reported the recall and identified the affected models. Honda’s recall numbers are DO5 and DO6, and the NHTSA campaign number is 26V306.
2024 and 2025 Models
Honda said in a letter to the NHTSA that certain 2024 and 2025 models may have a faulty rearview camera system. The company said the issue is fixed in the latest 2026 Prologue.
The Prologue entered the market in March 2024. Honda later said the Prologue was among the top-selling EVs in the US after its introduction, and the model is now the only EV Honda sells in the US after Honda pulled the Acura ZDX and abandoned plans for the 0 Series models and Acura RSX.

Owners of the recalled vehicles will receive letters about the repair, and the fix will be performed by dealers at no cost. The recall leaves drivers with a camera system that can be restored through a dealer replacement rather than a software update, making the mailed notice the first step for owners to get the work done.
