Olive Young Pasadena Opens First U.S. Store With 5,000 Products
olive young pasadena opens its first U.S. brick-and-mortar store on Friday at 58 West Colorado Boulevard, giving the Korean beauty retailer a physical foothold in the American market. The 8,647-square-foot store will stock about 400 brands and 5,000 products across skin care, makeup, hair care, wellness and lifestyle categories.
Gaeun Kwon In Pasadena
Gaeun Kwon, chief executive officer of Olive Young USA, said the launch begins a broader U.S. retail and e-commerce expansion. She said, "The U.S. is the biggest market in terms of trend and influence."
Kwon also said, "Over the years, K-beauty has become more than just a niche or a specific interest. It’s become more like a trending culture." The company first tested the U.S. market through its global e-commerce business, where more than 50 percent of sales came from American consumers.

The Pasadena store is set up differently from Olive Young’s South Korean locations. It groups products by concerns such as brightening, hydration or dark spots rather than strictly by brand, and it will offer free skin scanner consultations, testing stations and Beauty Lab programming.
Kwon said, "We’re really homing in on effectiveness and results-oriented visuals." She added, "In the U.S., we’re trying to send out a message in a very friendly tone that’s easy and approachable for everybody."
Olive Young Expansion Plan
Olive Young generated about $4.2 billion in annual sales in Korea in 2025 and operated more than 1,380 stores there. The company expects to open at least five more California locations by the first half of 2027, then expand into additional markets, including New York.
For shoppers in Pasadena, the opening is the first chance to buy from Olive Young in person in the United States. For Olive Young, the test now is whether a store built around product education and routines can convert the company’s online American audience into repeat foot traffic.
