London City Airport Launches Only London Route to Toulon
London City Airport launched the only London route to Toulon on May 26, 2026, with BA Cityflyer operating the new service. Passengers were greeted at the departure gate with a French Riviera-themed event, while the airport already has an existing link to Nice Côte d’Azur Airport.
Anne Doyere and BA Cityflyer
Anne Doyere, aviation director at London City Airport, said the airport was “thrilled” to launch the only London route to Toulon and thanked BA Cityflyer and Toulon–Hyères Airport. She also said the route reflects the airport’s ambition to expand the range of destinations it offers to passengers.
70 is the closest commercial-airport detail attached to Toulon in the source facts: Toulon is the nearest commercial airport to Saint-Tropez, and it sits in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur in southeastern France. BA Cityflyer managing director Ian Romanis said the service gives customers “a convenient connection from the heart of London to the shores of the French Riviera.”
May 26 Launch Event
Deckchairs, parasols and a live saxophonist greeted travelers at the gate on May 26, alongside refreshments from staff at both London City Airport and BA Cityflyer. A rose wine-tasting bar inspired by Provence was also part of the launch, turning the opening flight into a sales pitch for the route as much as a standard departure.
Eight new flight routes are set for Heathrow Airport in the spring and summer 2026 season, but that expansion sits outside London City’s move into Toulon. For passengers deciding between southern France options, the practical change is simple: Toulon now joins Nice on London City’s French Riviera map, giving the airport two gateways into the region instead of one.
