Liberia Cement Output Rises 32.6% to 0.255Mt in Q1 2026
liberia’s cement production rose 32.6 per cent quarter-on-quarter to 0.255Mt in the first quarter of 2026, according to the Central Bank of Liberia’s latest Financial & Economic Bulletin. The increase came after output stood at 0.193Mt in the previous quarter. The bank linked the rise to stronger construction activity during the dry season and the addition of new production capacity.
Central Bank of Liberia Bulletin
The same bulletin said cement output was also up 48 per cent year-on-year from 172,590t in the first quarter of 2025. That gives Liberia’s producers a firmer starting point for 2026 after manufacturing contracted by 2.8 per cent in 2025.
The Central Bank of Liberia said construction-related industrial activity continued to grow during the review period. It also pointed to higher production of pipes, varnish and thinner, tying those gains to seasonal construction demand.
Manufacturing Recovery in 2026
The bank projects Liberia’s manufacturing sector will recover to 5.0 per cent growth in 2026. It said cement and beverage production are expected to drive that rebound, making the first-quarter increase more than a one-off monthly swing.
For builders and suppliers, the practical signal is that cement is moving in the same direction as other construction-linked materials. The near-term pace will depend on whether dry-season demand and the newer production capacity keep feeding output through the rest of the year.
