Drake London Signs $141 Million Deal With Atlanta Falcons

Drake London signed a four-year, $141 million extension with the atlanta falcons that can reach $150 million and includes $100 million guaranteed. The 24-year-old receiver said Tuesday in Flowery Branch he wants a Super Bowl in Atlanta and still feels pressure to prove the size of the deal.

London Sets A Higher Bar

“I’ve always thought it would be so sick to win a Super Bowl in Atlanta,” London said. “The other aspect of that, you will be the first to do it. So regardless of who you are, where you’re at on the team, how much impact you had, you are going down as a legend in Atlanta.”

He added: “And being legendary is a big goal of mine.”

The extension made London the third-highest-paid receiver in the NFL and the 10th-highest-paid non-quarterback in league history. It is also the largest contract for a non-quarterback in franchise history, a marker that places the Falcons’ top receiver at the center of the roster and the payroll.

Kevin Stefanski Keeps London Central

London did not talk like a player satisfied with a payday. “I know that’s a lot of money, and I gotta prove it still,” he said. “I’m blessed to have that weight on my back right now. So, I got to level up in every single way, and every category. That’s my goal right now.”

He said he wants to be more consistent, become a consummate team leader and be “full encompassing of what an Atlanta Falcon should be.” He also said: “But at the same time, really playing for the team, playing for the fans, for the city, playing for something that’s bigger than me.”

New Falcons coach Kevin Stefanski said London represents a key part of the team, and the organization sent a quieter signal about that role by placing third-round rookie receiver Zachariah Branch’s locker next to his. London, a 2022 first-round pick, has already posted at least 65 catches and 850 receiving yards in each of his four seasons, and his career totals now sit at 309 receptions, 3,961 yards and 22 touchdowns in 62 games.

Zachariah Branch Sits Beside London

The deal raises the standard around him as much as it rewards what he has already produced. Atlanta is paying for the receiver who has stayed productive across four seasons, but London is openly setting a higher bar for what comes next: more consistency, more leadership and, in his words, a championship in Atlanta.
