Allegiant Expands with 30 New Routes Across 35 Cities

Allegiant Air has announced a significant expansion set to take place in 2026, introducing 30 new routes across 35 cities. This expansion will occur over the winter, spring, and early summer months, marking the airline’s largest growth spurt since 2025.

New Destinations and Return Routes

The expansion features three completely new destinations for the airline: La Crosse, Wisconsin; Columbia, Missouri; and Philadelphia. Additionally, Allegiant will resume flights to Trenton, New Jersey, for the first time since the pandemic.

Major Route Highlights

  • Gulf Shores International Airport (GUF) in Alabama is gaining five new routes.
  • John Wayne Airport (SNA) in California will also see five new routes added.
  • Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) will have four additional nonstop connections.

Future Growth Prospects

This route expansion underscores Allegiant’s strategy of focusing on leisure travel. The airline plans to utilize its growing fleet of Boeing 737 MAX aircraft to support its expansion.

According to Allegiant’s Chief Commercial Officer, Drew Wells, the airline is exploring about 1,400 potential routes that fit its model. This reflects their adaptability to changing migration patterns in the U.S. and aims to capitalize on emerging travel opportunities.

In addition to these developments, Allegiant is also considering enhancements to its loyalty program and the addition of on-board Wi-Fi.
