Beeple’s $100K Robot Dog Featuring Elon Musk and Picasso Sells Quickly

Digital artist Beeple, also known as Mike Winkelmann, has made waves at Art Basel Miami Beach with his latest installation, “Regular Animals.” This project features robotic dogs priced at $100,000 each, designed with hyper-realistic heads resembling prominent figures like Elon Musk and Picasso.

About the Installation

The installation will be on display until Sunday, showcasing robots that move within a plexiglass pen. Each robotic dog is equipped with cameras that capture images, processed by artificial intelligence, which produce prints in a unique manner. These prints include 256 pieces with QR codes linked to free NFTs, humorously packaged as “Excrement Samples.”

Notable Figures Featured

  • Elon Musk
  • Mark Zuckerberg
  • Jeff Bezos
  • Pablo Picasso
  • Andy Warhol

In a bold move, Beeple included a self-portrait dog. This decision, described by him as “ballsy,” proved successful as it was the first to sell, even surprising the artist.

Previous Achievements

This latest endeavor marks Beeple’s second notable moment in the art world. His digital collage sale at Christie’s for $69 million four years ago was pivotal. This sale played a significant role in sparking an NFT boom that peaked shortly after and subsequently cooled down.

As the art community watches, Beeple continues to push boundaries with innovative creations, engaging collectors and fans alike at notable events like Art Basel.
