The United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) has recognized Tre Carroll, a graduate student at Xavier University, as a national Division I Player of the Week. This announcement coincides with the Oscar Robertson Trophy recognition. The USBWA has recently expanded its weekly honors to feature five standout players each week.

Tre Carroll’s Outstanding Performance

Carroll’s exceptional week included an average of 25.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in triumphs against Saint Francis on December 1 and Cincinnati on December 5. He demonstrated remarkable efficiency, shooting 60.5 percent from the field, connecting on 23 of 38 attempts.

In the notable victory over Cincinnati, Carroll achieved a collegiate career-high of 30 points, complemented by seven rebounds. This win marked Xavier’s sixth victory in their last seven encounters with their crosstown rival.
