The Commander Format Panel has announced significant updates for the upcoming rotation on December 11, 2025. This panel, established over a year ago, plays a crucial role in shaping the future of the Commander game format. Its members work collaboratively to introduce new ideas, assess community feedback, and adapt the game accordingly.

Current Panel Members

As we approach the new year, the panel will maintain continuity with several existing members. The following players will remain in their positions:

New Additions to the Panel

This rotation introduces fresh perspectives to the Commander Format Panel, with two new members joining:

  • Alex Heyer (also known as “Higher”) – A notable voice in the competitive EDH (cEDH) community from the USA. He is involved with Playing With Power and runs his own tournament series.
  • Tomer Abramovici (known as “BudgetCommander”) – Based in France, Tomer has a history of creating budget Commander decks and currently contributes to MTGGoldfish while addressing community issues.

Looking Forward to 2026

As we transition to 2026, the panel aims to capture community feedback and engage in meaningful discussions. An update is expected in the first quarter of the year, following the release of the new set, Lorwyn Eclipsed.
