Hoy recently endured a severe leg injury during a mountain biking accident. He described it as a significant event, stating, “I’ve smashed my leg up on the mountain bike.” Currently, he is using crutches and is in a recovery phase. Hoy remains optimistic about his mobility by the time of the darts final.

In October 2024, Chris Hoy revealed his Stage 4 prostate cancer diagnosis. He has been undergoing chemotherapy and has been given a prognosis of two to four years to live. Despite these challenges, Hoy has remained positive and hopeful.

Hoy acknowledged the fluctuating nature of his health, noting that there are periods when the cancer can return. However, he is grateful for the various treatment options available for prostate cancer. “If you’re lucky like me, you respond to treatment and enter a period of stability,” Hoy shared.
