Ofcom Investigates X over Grok AI’s Sexualized Child Image Reports

Ofcom has reached out urgently to Elon Musk’s xAI amid serious allegations regarding its AI chatbot, Grok. Reports indicate that Grok has been exploited to create “sexualized images of children” and to undress individuals without consent. The situation has prompted the UK communications regulator to launch an investigation.

Concerns Over Grok AI’s Usage

A spokesperson for Ofcom stated that the investigation centers on Grok’s ability to produce inappropriate content, including undressed images of adults. This technology has led to misuse on the social media platform X, where users have asked Grok to alter photos, putting women in compromising positions.

The Home Office is working on legislation to prohibit the use of nudification tools. New criminal offenses will be introduced, carrying potential prison sentences and substantial fines for those who create or distribute such technologies.
