Salad and Go, a popular drive-thru salad chain, is exiting the Texas market. The company has announced the closure of all 25 of its remaining Dallas-Fort Worth locations. This decision aligns with its strategic shift towards focusing on operations in Arizona and Nevada.

Details of the Closure

CEO Mike Tattersfield confirmed the closures in an interview with the Phoenix Business Journal. He stated that the company would also shut down its Dallas commissary kitchen and relocate its headquarters from Coppell to Arizona. “After assessing our business, we made the decision to exit our Texas and Oklahoma markets and refocus on strengthening our core operations in Arizona and Nevada,” Tattersfield explained.

Previous Closures and Future Plans

In September 2025, Salad and Go closed 41 locations across Texas, which included all units in cities like Austin, Houston, and San Antonio. This decision was part of a broader strategy to simplify the business and prioritize its focus in Dallas and Oklahoma. Despite these closures, the CEO indicated that these markets remain important for future expansion. “We intend to return when the time is right,” he said.

Company Background

Founded in 2013 by Tony and Roushan Christofellis, Salad and Go began with a mission to provide healthier fast food alternatives. The chain operates drive-thru-only locations, some measuring just 750 square feet. This unique model has enabled them to sell salads at affordable prices, typically under $8.

Menu Offerings

  • Salads
  • Wraps
  • Soups
  • Beverages (including lemonade, tea, and cold brew)

One of their recent menu highlights included the Big AZ Burrito, featuring shredded beef and a generous serving of cheese.

Impact of the Closures

Salad and Go expanded rapidly since its Texas debut in 2021. At one point, the chain operated over 140 locations, a figure that has now dropped significantly. Following the pending closures, only 70 locations remain.
