Electric Wagon Revolutionizes Mass Transportation
Polestar, the Swedish-born and Chinese-owned electric vehicle maker, is poised to debut a new variant of its best-selling model, the Polestar 4. This innovative variant is expected to resemble a wagon and will be released later this year, with sales commencing in the fourth quarter.
Electric Wagon: The New Polestar 4 Variant
The upcoming Polestar 4 variant aims to broaden the company’s appeal. Michael Lohscheller, CEO of Polestar, emphasized the importance of this new release during a recent strategy update. “With this car, Polestar will once again set new standards,” he stated, highlighting the blend of space and versatility typical of Swedish designs while maintaining Polestar’s dynamic performance.

Polestar plans to introduce a total of four new electric vehicles by 2028. The current model, Polestar 4, is being recognized as a potential game changer for families, especially those who may favor a wagon-like design. As of now, the Polestar 4 is priced at $47,800, making it the brand’s most affordable option in the U.S. market.

Sales Performance and Future Goals
Polestar enjoyed a robust sales year in 2024, with a total of 60,119 vehicles sold globally, indicating a 34% increase compared to the previous year. The company is targeting a further expansion, with plans for a low double-digit increase in sales volume for this year, alongside a 30% growth in its dealer network.
The company is focusing on reaching the heart of the electric vehicle market. “We are launching the largest model offensive in our history,” said Lohscheller, emphasizing the significance of this initiative in establishing foundations for profitable growth and operational enhancements.
Looking Ahead
With the European deliveries of the Polestar 5 grand tourer commencing this summer, and plans for a new generation of the Polestar 2 sedan in 2024, the brand is clearly on an upward trajectory. Following this, the Polestar 7 compact SUV is scheduled for release in 2028.
