AI Chip Innovator Cerebras Pursues IPO Filing

Cerebras Systems, renowned for its advanced AI hardware, has officially filed for an initial public offering (IPO). This comes after a previous attempt in 2024, which was postponed due to a federal review concerning an investment from G42, a company based in Abu Dhabi. Ultimately, that filing was withdrawn.

Cerebras Raises Significant Funding

In the last year, Cerebras has demonstrated robust financial growth. The company successfully raised $1.1 billion in Series G funding followed by an impressive $1 billion in Series H financing in February, leading to a valuation of $23 billion.

Key Partnerships and Agreements

The startup has secured significant agreements that highlight its competitive edge in the AI market. Notably, Cerebras partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to integrate its chips into Amazon’s data centers. Additionally, the company entered a deal with OpenAI valued at over $10 billion, marking a significant milestone in its business strategy.

Financial Performance in 2025

Cerebras reported substantial revenue in its 2025 filing. The company generated $510 million, with a net income of $237.8 million. However, when accounting for certain one-time items, Cerebras experienced a non-GAAP net loss of $75.7 million.

Future IPO Plans

Details regarding the upcoming IPO remain limited. The company has not disclosed the amount it aims to raise through this public offering. However, a spokesperson indicated that the IPO is expected to take place in mid-May.

Competitor Landscape

In a recent interview, CEO Andrew Feldman acknowledged a major shift in the competitive landscape. He remarked on how Cerebras has successfully attracted OpenAI as a client, noting that this move may have affected competitor Nvidia’s influence in the AI inference domain.

Cerebras continues to position itself as a leading innovator in AI hardware, indicating strong prospects for its upcoming IPO and future growth in the industry.
