Overnight Light Rail Shutdown Between Capitol Hill and Stadium Stations

Link light rail service will face a temporary shutdown between Capitol Hill and Stadium stations this weekend. The closure will start at 11 p.m. on Saturday and last until 10 a.m. on Sunday. This suspension is necessary for Sound Transit to install advanced signaling in the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel.

Details of the Service Interruption

During the shutdown, buses will substitute for 1 Line trains between Capitol Hill and Stadium. Passengers should expect about 30 minutes of extra travel time due to this change. Despite the disruption, 1 Line trains will continue to operate regularly.

Regular Train Service Hours

  • Trains between Lynnwood and Capitol Hill will operate every 15 minutes.
  • Service between Stadium and Federal Way will run every 10-15 minutes.

Bus Service Schedule

Sound Transit will provide shuttle buses to maintain service continuity during the light rail shutdown. These buses will run every 10-15 minutes between the affected stations.
