UAB Health System has expanded its network by acquiring Southview Medical Group, a prominent healthcare provider in central Alabama. This acquisition, finalized on January 1, enhances UAB’s capabilities in delivering comprehensive medical care to the region.

Southview Medical Group serves over 51,000 unique patients annually, handling more than 130,000 patient visits each year. With a history stretching back to 1922, this multi-specialty practice has established itself in various fields, including:

Originally known as Southside Medical Group and Lakeview Internal Medicine, Southview Medical Group was formed after a merger in 1994. Its longstanding commitment to patient care has positioned it as a trusted healthcare provider within Birmingham and central Alabama.
