Anthropic Enhances Claude’s Memory to Attract AI Users

Anthropic has announced significant updates to its Claude AI platform, enhancing the user experience through new features. These improvements are particularly aimed at attracting users from rival chatbots such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini.

New Memory Feature for All Users

The latest updates include the addition of Claude’s memory feature for users on the free plan. Previously, this capability was exclusive to paid subscribers. Now, all Claude users can activate memory settings by navigating to “settings,” followed by “capabilities.”

Easy Data Transfer from Other Chatbots

A key feature in this update is the dedicated tool for importing data from other chatbots. This tool enables users to quickly transfer their historical data, so they don’t have to start anew in teaching Claude their context. Users will simply copy a prompt from Claude into their previous AI and then transfer the output back into Claude’s importing tool.

Enhanced Functionality and Popularity

These upgrades come as Claude is gaining traction in the market. Specifically, tools like Claude Code and Claude Cowork are driving its increasing popularity. In addition, Anthropic recently released its Opus 4.6 and Sonnet 4.6 models, which are designed to improve capabilities in coding and handling complex tasks such as spreadsheets.
