Dunkin' Gives 20 Tote Bags on National Donut Day 2026

Dunkin' tied national donut day 2026 to a limited tote giveaway, with each location getting only 20 bags and one store down to a single bag on Monday. Katie, a Business Insider reporter, called around and then raced to the store that still had one left.

Katie Secures Dunkin's Last Tote

"I called a few of my local Dunkin' locations to ask if they still had the free tote bags available with the purchase of a half or full dozen donuts," Katie wrote. When she found a store with one tote bag left in stock, she added, "I raced over, and to my relief, I secured the bag."

The promotion required customers to buy a half dozen or a full dozen donuts to get the free tote. That setup made the item a scarcity play, not a broad handout, because each store received 20 bags and one location was already down to one by Monday.

Dunkin's Limited Merch Drops

Dunkin' has used this kind of small-run merchandise before. Earlier this spring, it gave away a pink wedding ring box with the purchase of 25 or more Munchkins, part of its I Dough collaboration with Vera Wang.

This winter, it gave away a single pink mitten meant to keep a hand warm while holding an iced coffee. Those promotions fit a pattern of narrow merchandise releases rather than standard branded cups or discount coupons.

What The 20-Bag Limit Shows

20 bags per location is a tight allocation for a chain with more than 14,000 locations worldwide. Dunkin', which started in the Boston suburbs in the 1950s and is owned by Inspire Brands, still leans on small-quantity drops that can disappear store by store.

In May, Inspire Brands confidentially filed for an initial public offering, while Dunkin' kept pushing limited merchandise tied to buying donuts or Munchkins. For customers, the practical move was simple: call ahead, ask about stock, and be ready to buy the qualifying order before the last bag disappears.

For anyone hoping to land the tote now, the controlling variable is inventory, not the calendar. Once a location's 20 bags are gone, the only path left is another store with stock on hand.
